Enrichment
Latin for the secondary classroom
These offerings are geared towards elementary, middle or high school students looking for enrichment in Latin or the culture/ history of the ancient world. Enrichment could be:
- individual tutoring (any level of Latin), especially if the student is preparing for a specific test, exam or trying to jump levels
- small groups focusing on Latin, ancient History or some combination
- project based learning E.G. - reading a recipe for Roman concrete and attempting to replicate it- support for researching advanced topics; past students have combined an interest in Latin/ the ancient world with another topic and then crafted a portfolio highlighting those disparate interests for a college/ university
The Road To Latin via Lupercal
We have an asynchronous course for any level of Latin student. We've crafted this course using a text written by Helen Maria Chesnutt, a black Classicist and graduate of Smith College. You can complete this class independently or there is an hour/ week for check-ins.

We loved the ideas that you have about
pushing Latin into the modern world and hearing your perspectives on certain aspects of Latin. Your passion in Latin and the programs you are
working for really encouraged us to continue our interest in Latin and pursue further studies. We highly appreciate you taking your time out of
your day to talk with us. Thank you once again!
- Anca Fu and Victoria Zhou (students at Dana Hall)
It was a gift to hear you speak so openly and passionately about women in latin, and how we can begin to pick apart latin history with a critical eye, but also in a positive light as we begin to reimagine a future of latin that is not only inclusive,
but possibly uniquely inclusive, and in a way, a recluse. As a young woman studying Latin with many other brilliant young women, I have found
myself building off of the strong female identity and passion for those underrepresented female Latin characters, such as Dido. Your words greatly inspired me today, so thank you both for coming in but also for doing the work you are to carve a brighter future for females in Latin.

Testimonials
You have rekindled my joy of reading and loving Latin and helped me find people who also find joy in reading Latin. I love that you're taking us through these 2000 years so we can get acquainted with lots of different women writers and then decide which ones we want to explore. -Sharon Kazmierski
As a young female Latin teacher, Lupercal has been integral for helping me to meet experienced mentors and feel more confident teaching Latin. The group make me feel like I have a voice in the classical community in a way that I never felt comfortable or heard before. Lupercal has helped me to understand how much female representation is missing in the classics, but also how many women there really are that want to connect and close this gap. I have learned so much from other women on the group and I know that I am a better teacher because of being a part of it. Classics can often feel like an isolating profession, but Lupercal allows female Latin teachers to really feel like they are a part of something important. -Michele Becker
